SRI, one of Singapore’s top five real estate agencies, has recently announced the appointment of Thomas Tan as its new CEO effective December 1.This change in leadership comes after Tan’s successful stint as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ERA Singapore, the second-largest real estate agency in terms of salesforce and part of the publicly listed APAC Realty. He held this position from July 2021 to March 2023 before being appointed as the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) at ERA from March to August 2023.
Prior to joining ERA, Tan was the CLO at Life Mastery Academy, a leading provider of the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) course which is mandatory for all new real estate agents. Life Mastery Academy is under PropNex, the largest listed real estate agency in terms of salesforce and is accredited by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA). Tan had been with Life Mastery for over a year, joining the firm in March 2020.
Tan brings with him a wealth of experience, having been a director and key executive officer at RE Training & Consultancy (RETC) for the past eight years. He was also the president of the Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA). During his time at RETC, Tan conducted the Real Estate Salesperson and Continuing Professional Development Courses and trained over 10,000 students. He was also an associate trainer at Real Centre Network for nine years before that, and spent 12 years at Remax Singapore, a real estate franchise where he was an executive director.
According to Bruce Lye, co-founder and managing partner of SRI, Tan’s success as a real estate agent at Remax 17 years ago makes him the perfect candidate for the CEO role at SRI. Lye also highlights Tan’s extensive training and leadership background, making him well-suited to introduce a training framework that caters to the agents at SRI.
Tan himself is excited about the opportunity to lead SRI and believes in the agency’s potential for growth and its commitment to building upon its rich legacy.
The previous CEO of SRI was Tony Koe, who stepped down in June this year after serving as CEO since 2016.
