Violet Oon Wins Tender Dempsey Road Building Top Bid 52615 Month

Singapore Land Authority (SLA) recently announced the winner of the tender for a conserved building at 7 Dempsey Road. Violet Oon, a well-known Peranakan restaurant owned by the renowned chef, restaurateur, and food writer, submitted the highest bid of $52,615 per month through her subsidiary, Halo Concept.
The charming building is situated in the Dempsey Hill area, which is known for its upscale restaurants, cafes, retail shops, and services. With a land area of 6,723 square feet and an estimated gross floor area of 6,190 square feet, the building offers ample space for dining and other activities. The tender, which was launched on January 24, was evaluated based on the proposed concept and the price. The lease period is set at 5+4 years.
Halo Concept plans to transform the building into a vibrant dining destination with both indoor and outdoor seating options. One of the unique features of the new Violet Oon at 7 Dempsey Road will be a mobile cooking studio.
Out of the eight bids received, the second-highest bid of $33,295 per month came from two Singapore-based restaurant groups, Culinary Arts and Urban Group. These groups are the operators of the Contemporary Melting Pot and Bar (CM-PB), the current tenant of the building. The other bids ranged from $20,000 to $33,295 per month.
SLA’s decision to award the tender to Violet Oon reflects their aim to revitalize the Dempsey Hill area and offer diverse dining options to the public. With the upcoming Violet Oon at 7 Dempsey Road, visitors can look forward to an exciting and unique culinary experience in a beautiful and historic building.
