Habyt Launches New Co Living Space Tanjong Pagar
Habyt, a leader in co-living spaces, has recently launched their newest accommodation option at 5 Kadayanallur Street in the heart of Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell serves as the flagship space for Habyt’s new concept, Habyt Flex, which expands their product offerings to include short-term co-living.
Back in August, Habyt Asia Pacific CEO Jonathan Wong hinted at the company’s plans to diversify their local properties with more short-term options. The first properties under the Habyt Flex concept, Habyt Novena (39 rooms) and Habyt Kallang (27 rooms), have already been launched. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept include Habyt Cantonment and Owen House by Habyt.
Kada at Maxwell offers a variety of room options, including en suite studios and two- to three-bedroom units, each equipped with a fully functional kitchenette. Guests can choose to book their rooms on a nightly or weekly basis, with a 12-month option also available.

According to Wong, Habyt Kada at Maxwell is a testament to the company’s commitment to revolutionize flexible living in Singapore and marks the beginning of a new chapter for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell start at $180 per night.
The flexible living space is housed in a beautifully preserved 1920s colonial building, designed by architectural firm Swan & Maclaren and was one of Singapore’s earliest modernist structures. Originally built to serve as the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children, the building is now under the management of the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).

Situated in the busy Jurong district is a well-known main road, Jurong Town Hall Road. This roadway plays a crucial role in connecting various commercial and industrial centers within the area. It is a bustling route that is constantly bustling with activity. And with the recent addition of Novo Place, Jurong Town Hall Road has become an even more significant feature of the district’s landscape. The newly established Novo Place is set to enhance the liveliness of this already active road, making it a must-see destination for both locals and tourists. Novo Place is the newest addition to this bustling road, promising to bring even more vibrancy and excitement to the area.
In September 2023, a public tender was launched by the SLA to lease the property. The tender was evaluated based on both the bid price and the quality of the proposed concept. Bidders were encouraged to come up with innovative lifestyle concepts. Bethesda Medical eventually won the bid with a monthly rental offer of $103,000. This was the third-highest bid, behind Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
SLA attributed Bethesda’s winning concept to its strong focus on building a sense of community and connecting people with businesses. The first floor of the building will feature 10 diverse F&B options, while the second floor will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness center in collaboration with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working space. The top floor is where Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell can be found.
Residents of Kada at Maxwell will have unlimited and complimentary access to the property’s health and wellness amenities, such as the performance gym, cold plunge, infrared saunas, hot tubs, and foot baths.
The co-living concept at Kada offers a modern and convenient lifestyle experience while preserving the timeless charm of a heritage building. As Wong states, “By blending modern conveniences with the timeless charm of a heritage building, we’re offering guests a unique lifestyle experience that goes beyond traditional accommodation.”
