Redas Appoints New Management Committee Led Returning President Tan Swee Yiow

During the Annual General Meeting held on January 9th, the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (Redas) unanimously re-elected Tan Swee Yiow, Chairman of Keppel Reit Management, as President for a second consecutive term. Tan expressed his gratitude for being re-elected, stating that the new management committee is comprised of a diverse group of individuals who represent different sectors, scales, and expertise within the real estate industry.

The new management committee includes Immediate Past President Chia Ngiang Hong from City Developments as Group General Manager, First Vice President Kwee Ker Wei from Pontiac Land Group as Director, Second Vice President Marc Boey from Far East Organization as Executive Director of Project Services, Honorary Secretary Chong Hock Chang from Ho Bee Land as Group Director of Projects and Marketing, Honorary Treasurer Neo Soon Hup from UOL Group as COO, Honorary Assistant Secretary Chew Peet Mun from CapitaLand Development Singapore as Managing Director of Investment and Development, and Honorary Assistant Treasurer Tho Leong Chye from Allgreen Properties as Managing Director.

Chia Ngiang Hong, the Immediate Past President, congratulated the new management committee and commended Tan for his outstanding leadership and the trust placed in him by the Redas community. On the other hand, Tan stated that the diversity of the new management committee will greatly benefit the association in driving initiatives that will have a positive impact on the built environment ecosystem. In related news, a Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Chia Ngiang Hong during the 65th anniversary celebration of Redas. Talks on the implementation of the Environmental Sustainability Perspective Framework and green premiums were also discussed during the RICS-REDAS conference. Additionally, the Land Transport Authority announced the launch of an AI chatbot and the implementation of streamlined road approval processes for developers. Finally, developers have proposed a separate land zoning plan to meet the projected demand for senior accommodation in Singapore.
