Jll Appoints James Cameron Head Energy And Infrastructure Asia Pacific
One of the leading real estate consulting firms, JLL, has recently announced the appointment of James Cameron as its new head of energy and infrastructure for the Asia Pacific region. This new role, based in Singapore, is part of the firm’s capital markets business line.
Cameron’s main responsibility will be building a team in the Asia Pacific region. This appointment will enhance JLL’s existing EMEA Energy & Infrastructure business, creating a global capital advisory capability to cater to the needs of both local and international developers and investors.
JLL explains that Cameron’s appointment is in line with the long-term capital needs to support the development of infrastructure and renewable energy projects. This is crucial in meeting the challenges of decarbonization, digitalization, economic growth, and rapid urbanization.
Stuart Crow, JLL Asia Pacific’s CEO of capital markets, states, “We see a huge opportunity to leverage our unique expertise in mobilizing various sources of capital and JLL’s unparalleled track record in advising renewable energy transactions globally to serve clients within the energy and infrastructure sector across Asia Pacific.”
Cameron will work closely with JLL’s capital markets, investment banking, and debt advisory teams in the region. His focus will be on sourcing opportunities for capital raising and transaction advisory across large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects for institutional investors, private equity, asset managers, strategic infrastructure and renewable energy operators and developers, high-net-worth individuals, and family offices.
With over 25 years of experience in real asset capital markets, Cameron brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. He has previously held the position of global head of commercial real estate at Standard Chartered Bank. Cameron has a strong background in mobilizing different forms of private and public equity and financing for infrastructure projects, both at a global and regional level.
Crow adds, “James’ expertise in this exciting space is unmatched in the region, and we have complete confidence in his ability to establish JLL’s leadership position through his knowledge and client relationships.”
