Keppel%E2%80%99S Latest Data Centre Achieves Highest Bca Green Mark Award
By Keppel’s latest data centre in Singapore, Keppel DC Singapore 8, has recently been awarded the prestigious BCA Green Mark Platinum Award – the highest accolade for environmentally friendly buildings given by the Building and Construction Authority.
Situated at 82 Genting Lane, Keppel DC Singapore 8 is a six-storey data centre spanning approximately 100,882 sq ft. This state-of-the-art facility boasts advanced equipment and designs that are geared towards reducing water consumption. Additionally, it features innovative cooling and facility management systems that enhance its overall energy efficiency.
Currently under construction, the data centre is scheduled to be completed in phases, with the first phase expected to be ready for service by the third quarter of 2024. It will be operated and managed by Keppel’s Connectivity Division and is already fully leased to clients from various industries including cloud services, internet enterprise, and telecommunications.
This latest development is the second of three planned complexes within the Keppel Data Centre campus. Its predecessor, Keppel DC Singapore 7, was awarded the BCA-Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) Green Mark Platinum Award in 2022. The campus as a whole has an impressive power usage effectiveness of approximately 1.3.
Funding for the first two complexes was partially provided by Keppel’s private fund, Alpha Data Centre Fund, managed by Keppel Fund Management. The site’s leasehold is held by Memphis 1, a joint venture between Keppel and Cuscaden Peak Investments, with a 60:40 stake.
