Guocoland Secures Two Green Facilities Dbs And Ocbc Refinance Its Properties

.GuocoLand announced that it has secured two green facilities from DBS Bank and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC). The first is a $1.135 billion green facility for the refinancing of Guoco Midtown, while the second is a $105 million green facility for the refinancing of Midtown Bay.Guoco Midtown is a mixed-use development in the Beach Road area, comprising residential, retail and Grade A offices. Its green facility is the largest to date for the property developer.Both green facilities were raised under GuocoLand’s Green Finance Framework, which aims to promote sustainable development through the incorporation of environmental, social and governance considerations in its financing activities. The framework is aligned with the sustainability goals of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Including these two new green facilities, GuocoLand has secured a total of about $5 billion in green financing, covering developments such as Guoco Tower and other developments like Lentor Mansion, Lentor Modern, Midtown Modern, and an upcoming development on Upper Thomson Road.The Group Chief Financial Officer of GuocoLand, Andrew Chew, stated that this refinancing activity will allow the company to optimize its capital structure while upholding its commitment to creating thoughtfully designed spaces that balance economic, environmental, and social factors.GuocoLand’s stock closed flat at $1.45 on January 15.
