Five Shophouses Kreta Ayer Conservation Area Sale

Five shophouses in the historic Kreta Ayer Conservation area of Chinatown are now available for sale through tender. The shophouses, which are under receivership, are being marketed by FTI Consulting.

Located at Mosque Street, three of the shophouses are freehold and include a 6 Mosque Street, a double-storey shophouse, and 22, 22A and 22B Mosque Street, which are a pair of adjacent three-storey shophouses. The remaining two shophouses are leasehold, with a 999-year tenure, and are situated at 202 and 204 South Bridge Road.

Dating back to the early 1900s to the 1960s, the shophouses showcase a mix of Transitional, Late and Art Deco architectural styles. They are zoned for commercial use and are not subjected to additional buyer’s stamp duty, making them open to foreign buyers.

The 6 Mosque Street unit has a gross floor area of 3,061 sq ft, while the adjacent shophouses at 22 and 23 Mosque Street have a combined gross floor area of 7,467 sq ft.

Situated within walking distance of the Chinatown MRT Interchange Station for the Northeast and Downtown Lines, the shophouses at Mosque Street are in a prime location. The shophouses at 22/22A/22B and 23 Mosque Street are located within the Kreta Ayer Conservation Area, while the two shophouses at South Bridge Road are pre-war units with mezzanine levels.

All five shophouses are strategically located in central areas, with close proximity to the Chinatown, Maxwell and Telok Ayer MRT stations. They are also surrounded by a variety of hotels, eateries, retail shops, and entertainment spots. The popular pedestrian mall, Pagoda Street, is just a street away, making it a popular spot for tourists.

The shophouses at South Bridge Road are near the central business district (CBD), situated just off Mosque Street and Cross Street. They provide easy accessibility to Singapore’s financial districts at Raffles Place and Shenton Way, while also being located near several heritage sites that draw tourists.
