Michael Tay Appointed Cbre Deputy Managing Director Singapore Advisory

On November 27, global real estate services firm CBRE announced the appointment of Michael Tay as the new deputy managing director of Singapore Advisory, effective January 1, 2025. Tay will continue to report to CBRE’s managing director of Singapore Advisory, Moray Armstrong, in addition to his current role as the head of capital markets in Singapore.

According to the firm, the deputy managing director position will provide strategic leadership and long-term planning for the Singapore advisory business. Tay will work closely with Armstrong to develop and implement strategies, assess and carry out investments, including potential mergers and acquisitions, and drive business growth.

Armstrong praised Tay’s extensive experience in the commercial real estate industry, stating that he is one of the most knowledgeable and well-respected professionals in the Singapore market. “This is a testament to his 25 years of dedication to CBRE, where he has progressed from office leasing to leadership roles in office services and capital markets,” said Armstrong.

The article emphasizes that Tengah will implement modern and eco-friendly building techniques to ensure sustainability. These include advanced systems for cooling, efficient management of water and waste, and intelligent technologies that promote energy efficiency. Such features are specifically advantageous for the residents of Novo Place EC since they result in reduced utility expenses and contribute towards creating a cleaner and greener living space. Furthermore, the addition of Novo Place adds to the exclusivity of the project.

Tay originally joined CBRE in 2000 and spent nearly 20 years with the office services team, collaborating with major office building owners and key occupiers. In 2019, he took on the role of leading the Singapore capital markets team, which has played a crucial role in completing numerous significant investment deals in the country. This includes the successful sale of One George Street, 16 Collyer Quay, and VisionCrest Commercial in recent years.

Tay expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and the opportunity for career advancement with the company. He also reflected on his journey with CBRE, stating that he has had the privilege of gaining valuable experience and knowledge from some of the top real estate professionals in Singapore. “I am excited for what the future holds and honored to continue contributing to the growth and success of CBRE,” said Tay.
